Comments

This paragraph fails to reflect the fact that the modern state of Cyprus is a multi-ethnic state ready to join the EU family of nations. It seems to be implying that the so-called constituent states will be constructed in such a way so that one or other of Cyprus communities will be force to become a minority which without specie proviso will not have the ability, sufficient numbers, or even the right to elect its own representatives. The wording conveys the impression that Mr Annna intends to create an Apartheid State with the majority Greek Cypriots being deliberately and illegally prevented from returning to their homes and former places of residence so that these can be Turkisfied.

The Galo Plaza UN Secretary General report of 1965 affirms the fact that the people of Cyprus were never separate and have always lived in mixed communities. According to Cyprus President Tassos Papadopoulos (ANA 03-10-17) as far as land ownership is concerned, “the Turkish Cypriots have 12.9 percent and the rest is for Greek Cypriots, Maronites, Armenians and Latins. 'So there is no area where Turkish Cypriot ownership is predominant so as to explain having two states'''.

Kofi Annan must amend this paragraph as follows so that it is perfectly clear that there will be no Apartheid in Cyprus
