Comments
Demilitarisation does not mean the same thing as disarmament. Demilitarisation means the removal of military force from the streets. Kofi Annan’s plan is contradictory. It states the Cyprus should be demilitarisation but asks for its complete disarmament.
The above paragraph denies Cyprus its right to self defence and leaves it completely at the mercy of any terrorist or aggressor. When Turkey invaded Cyprus twice in 1974 its troops showed no mercy whatsoever for the civilian population of Cyprus which they brutally ethnically cleansed. Cyprus must have the right to defend itself therefore this paragraph must be amended.
