Dear
Sir/Madam,
It has
come to my attention that on June 1st 2005 members of the US congress
including Democrat Congressman from Florida Robert Wexler and Kentucky
Democrat Congressman Wayne Edward Whitefield as well as representatives of
American businesses plan to visit the occupied areas of the Republic of
Cyprus via the Illegal Airport of Tymbou (Erkan).
Not
only will this be a deliberate violation of the laws of the Republic of
Cyprus which expressly prohibit the use of the illegal airport in Tymbou
village as a means to enter the Republic's territory which includes all of
the territory in the occupied areas in the north, which it is prevented
from exercising its authority in by the presence of 40,000 illegal Turkish
occupation troops which have been stationed there for over 30 years in
violation of repeated UN resolutions, the UN Charter and international law,
but this is also an express violation of UN Security Council Resolution 541
(1983) and Resolution 550 (1984) which declare the illegal secessionist
state set up by the Turkish occupying forces in Cyprus "legally
invalid" and call upon all members not to recognise the illegal
secessionist state and its organs in any way and not to engage any action
which might exacerbate the situation or assist the pseudo-state in any way
and call upon all members to respect the sovereignty, independence and
territorial integrity of the Republic of Cyprus, by representatives of the
United States.
The
legitimate internationally recognised Government of Cyprus has declared all
the harbours and airports of occupied Cyprus closed to traffic and any
entry into Cyprus including the occupied areas from these points is
illegal. This is the law of the Country. In addition, the Tymbou airport is
built on stolen property of 200 Cypriot refugees who can sue anyone in EU
courts for trespassing their property. These people are the legal owners of
the Tymbou airport land and US citizens will violate their property rights.
The US
government does not recognise the illegal Turkish occupation regime or the
illegal airport at Tymbou nor are these recognised by any member states of
the United Nations except Turkey the occupying power.
By
entering occupied Cyprus illegally territory via the illegal Tymbou airport
or by any other illegal port on occupied territory you will be liable for:
1.- Violation
of Cyprus laws which declare the use of all ports and airports in the
occupied areas illegal.
2.-
Violation of Cyprus laws which prohibit the illegal exploitation of
refugees property (since the airport is built on refugees' property) which
now carry a sentence of two years in prison.
3.-
Violation of Cyprus laws of trespass, since the airport is built on
refugees property.
4.-
Violation of the European Convention of Human Rights (Right to property).
6.-
Violation of EU customs regulations which prohibit the use of the illegal
ports and airports.
7.-
Illegal entry into the Republic of Cyprus.
8.-
Illegal entry into the European Union.
9.-
Illegal trade across EU borders.
10.-
Encouraging the violation of Cyprus and EU laws through advertising and the
use of illegal flights.
11.-
Violation of the UN Resolutions 541(1983) and 550(1984)
12.-
Violation of the Cyprus Flight Information Region.
13.-
Illegal entry into Cyprus Air Space.
14.-
Ignoring the Air Traffic Control Regulations.
15.-
Flying without insurance.
16.-
Illegal designation of an air flight.
17.-
Violation of United States Congress code of conduct.
18.-
Violation of United States laws outlawing trade and diplomatic relations
with an illegal occupying power.
If
members of the US congress and representatives of US businesses enter the
occupied areas of the Republic of Cyprus illegally they will seriously
damage US-Cyprus relations and will not have diplomatic immunity and will
be liable to arrest and legal action by the Republic of Cyprus and its
citizens.
The
only legal way to enter the occupied areas of the Republic of Cyprus is via
the UN controlled crossings in the free areas.
I
therefore demand that this totally illegal visit be called off immediately.
